At the University of Quebec, its antitumor and anticancer activity was studied. Researchers have found Ledum to be a very strong antioxidant, a powerful anti-inflammatory agent. It has shown anti-cancer activity against colon and lung carcinomas. These studies show that Rosemary may be stronger than Frankincense essential oil in some cases in treating cancer.

Ledum is known to protect the liver and is used in the treatment of hepatitis and fatty degeneration of the liver. There are two professionally made blends that have been specifically designed to treat and detoxify the liver and lymphatic system – Juva Cleanse and GLF.
